Season: Summer
The soft warmth of the Region's springtime has been replaced by the heat of summer, where even Istin has warmed up to just below freezing. Up in the Pass, the underbrush is thriving and the few deciduous trees mixed among the pines have spread their leaves. Berry trees hang full across the region and fire type pokemon are loving the return of the heat. Water types are also enjoying the change in the weather, though they are more careful to stay in the shade. Dark types have retreated to the cooler northern areas or have returned to being almost exclusively nocturnal. In addition to the seasonal changes in pokemon populations, electric pokemon are swarming. Thankfully, the plague seems to have been all but stamped out, so battles and plots with these pokemon will be ending soon.

Welcome to Harper!
Welcome to the Harper Region, where we take pokémon back to a simpler time, before cars and trains and computers. In fact, we take it all the way back into the middle ages, in a region founded by an exiled bard whose name has become legend.
That's right, Harper is a medieval era pokémon site, where the Guardians of the region are in constant conflict with the rogues and the Order of the Masque, who would see the region's governing systems and classes overthrown. Both civilians and the rest of the region's pokémon handlers lay in between the two opposite sides of the law, making their own way by breeding, acting as vigilantes or generally people for hire, or trying out something entirely new.
Harper is not stat/numbers based, making for realistic battles and allowing members to choose their own characters' paths. Both pokémon battles and physical, hand-to-hand combat battles may occur in character, and players begin with a weapon and some armour.
The style of play here is different than your typical play-by-post forum, more similar to tabletop RPGs, in that you play your character with/against a staff member, who acts as the "dungeonmaster" or "gamemaster," controlling the world and the non player characters in order to keep the system fair.

The Pass is the region's oldest founded and capital city, with a large underground network. It is one of the largest in the region.

Cape Augustine
Cape Augustine is both very large and the wealthiest port city of the region. It's known for a vast marketplace and the lighthouse, primarily. The Guard's HQ is here.

Marchton City
Marchton is a small city used primarily for a sheltered docking point for the region's ships. A famous bird-pokemon breeder sells pokemon here, and there is a day care that is widely used for breeding by beginners.

Miramossa
This 'town' is almost entirely a mirage, with only one or two truly solid buildings. It is used sort of like an inn for travelers. Psychic pokemon behave very strangely here.

Fough Place
Known as the City of Blacksmiths, it produces most of the region's metalwork. It has rocky cliffs on one side that drop off to the ocean and rivers leading to the inland sea on the other, with some forest to the north that is used for hunting.

Istin City
Called the City in the Sky, this city is built up instead of out, and is the northernmost city in the region. It has never fallen, thanks to its fantastic natural defenses. This city experiences the cold all year long, but is known for flying pokemon.

Dedrius
A city known for its logging industry, grass pokemon are most common in the area due to Edgewood to the immediate south. Bears fairly harsh winters, but also retains average summers.

Navdia Crater
Relatively isolated, situated in the desert oasis by a supposedly bottomless lake with its own myths, it is a fairly prosperous city, and surprisingly mostly merchants.

Cypwater Point
Cypwater is situated on the southernmost point of Harper in the wetlands. It is a well known party-city that the rogue Trick Lord more or less controls. It is the largest port, but is also very poor and known for smuggling, primarily.

Doran Village
A very small town isolated in the south of the Crescent Range, Doran Village's 'founders' invented tiered farming to cultivate the mountains and steep hills that surround its valley. It has a lot of strange superstitions.

Seaway is the ultimate vacation spot and the last word in fashion and relaxation. Set on the region's only big island, a strong current from the south and the weather patterns make the island nearly tropical.

Any freeform thread in any city can be placed here. You may use any character here, and you may do whatever you please and catch whatever you want and buy whatever you want regardless of the way things are set up elsewhere if you really want to. Even if your character dies here, it will not affect your 'real' character's official, 'real' adventures. Just have fun! There are no mods here to be the dungeonmasters.
