Quick Updates

Weather Conditions

Season: Autumn

With the cooling season of Autumn, Ice-types are starting to re-emerge from their hibernation as Ghost-, Normal-, and Flying-types swarm in the largest numbers they will all year. In comparison, wild Fire- and Bug-type populations are falling in number. The migration of Flying-types to the south in search of warmer weather has also started, as Istin City starts to re-freeze and Autumn marks the beginning of Cypwater Point's rainy season. Handlers and Rogues alike should be wary: Ghost-type powers are boosted during this season, at the cost of being more prone to their triggers.

Manx's updated dream team!

Bishop http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335252.gif : (Current)http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/58growlithe.png --> (Future) http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/59arcanine.png
Manx's starter and closest companion keeps his trainer's dark side in check. Bishop's fierce loyalty is often fraught with internal dissonance, since the fire-type is also committed to honor and doing the right thing. Not the smartest by any means, but his simplicity is balanced out by strength and devotion, and also Q's quick wits.

Q http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif : (Current)user posted image --> (Future) user posted image

Regal, cold, and independent, Q is almost as close to Manx as Bishop is. She serves as an excellent balance for her fiery counterpart, with a high level of intelligence and reserved mannerisms. The dual-type is far less judgmental of her trainer's inner darkness. In fact, she is almost a replica of his struggles between choosing good or evil. Q is also a conflicted soul. Without Bishop, she could most certainly be tempted towards a path of wrongdoing.

Lotte http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif : (Current)http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/43oddish.png --> (Future) http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/182bellossom.png or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/45vileplume.png
Originally I intended for Lotte to be a bellossom upon evolution, but her temperament is suggesting that she might fit better as a vileplume. Only time will tell. Lotte is stubborn, chatty, and much too big for her britches. Overall, her playful personality is well received by her companions.

Eryn Norwood
Note: Eryn is likely to have a lot of pokemon, but will only take a few of them with them at a time. This is for their safety, as well as their pokemons'. However, the following listed six could be termed as the "main team," if only for the amount of time that they have spent/will spend with Eryn.

user posted image http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335252.gif
Cumulus
The starter pokemon, and the one that, perhaps, Eryn understands the most. A trickster and a loyal companion both, Cumulus runs on the concept of Pack.

user posted image http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335252.gif
Nimbus
The other one that has been with Eryn since the fateful mission to Istin City. He is more impulsive than most, and a more jaded view of the world, though he isn't quite as pragmatic in the same way as Azar or Danya.

user posted image http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif
Azar
Steadfast, regal, and perhaps a dragon in a past life, Azar knows herself and her position in life and is not afraid to show it. She is impatient in a different way from Nimbus - in that when she wants things done, she wants them done - and is capable of antagonizing others quite easily.

user posted image http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif
Danya
Danya joined Eryn because they knew what she was looking for more than her previous trainer, and until she finds a reason to cease she will not. She tends to stay in Eryn's shadow more often than not, and is quite satisfied in sustaining herself off of the feeling of malice that follows them.

user posted image
Farvardin
High-minded, objective, and impassive. Farvardin, as it is now called, has lived for years more than Eryn has, and first joined them because it was intrigued by their life's work and methodologies. It may leave their company at some point, though. Not sure about this one.

user posted image http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif
?
To cover type disadvantages, and because having a water-type opens up great opportunities for Eryn.

With new generation, comes an update on his team. After thinking about how his team was more "what i like" instead of logically want he "needs" to survive in haper, I have changed his team slightly. Of course, he will catch one of each flying type/avian and they will always be in rotation. But, his main team needs to be shifted slightly to help him with his day to day stuff. This will probably change again but you know... http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/emoticons/13.png

main team
http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/142aerodactyl.png
starter, flying mount, main companion

spy of the group, takes far range attacks ( sense mav is mostly close range )

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/178xatu.png
the brains, the assistant, aids in communication 'telepathy', 'healer'

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/227skarmory.png
the beast, when you want to get the job done

special rotation

Characters:
Hound

Awards: 2

Hound used to live by the rule "Survival of the fittest," and only kept a single pokemon - a mightyena by the name of Fang. After circumstance and time cut that almost decades (plural) partnership short, he's more or less given life the middle finger salute for a year before getting back into the game. But now he's actively working on changing his philosophy. His old way worked well enough for a while, but not in the ultimate conclusion - so now, he's going to try "Safety in numbers." Each pokemon on his team will have a role; core and rotationals.

Hound names all of his partners after minerals; most often after semi-precious stones or types of rock. He focuses on predator species, though he may make a few exceptions.

Ref: Alola forms have a 1/20 roll odd with spawning.
Ref: Can catch evolved forms of pokemon in Freeforms (of spawns).

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/x_and_y/Fennekin.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/x_and_y/Braixen.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/x_and_y/Delphox.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif
<span class="harper">Amber</span>
The central locus of Hound's new team, Amber was selected from a breeder's stocks out on Route 7. The fact that Hound stole her appealed to the fennekin's wily nature, and earned a brownie point or two. Amber is also highly independent and likes to do things her own way, though, so she and Hound are going to butt heads over the best way to do things until they figure out how one another ticks.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/63abra.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/64kadabra.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/65alakazam.png
<span class="harper">Citrine</span>
Hound feels he lost Fang because of an informational deficit - he doesn't intend to fall prey to the same weakness twice, and has set his sights on a very specific pokemon. Known for their intelligence being through the roof, and their ability to teleport, they would have a high utility in addition to acting as an information relay. [Although nothing yet concrete, I picture Citrine joining the party only after peeling through Hound's mind and exposing his weaknesses and motives before deciding to come along, on the caveat that they are equals in all things. He/she will take suggestions, not orders.]

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/261poochyena.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/262mightyena.png
<span class="harper">Hematite</span>
Mostly to rip the scab off of Hound's still healing emotional wounds and grief ... shame, I know. This poochyena would be conversely protected and trained, with the aim of guiding it into a capable adult while hopefully avoiding any fatalities. Hound would know better than to treat it as Fang II, but it wouldn't stop him from looking for similarities. </div></div></div><div class="hideborder"><div class="spoilertitle" style="margin:1px;cursor:pointer;padding:4px;" onclick="if (this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].style.display == 'none') { this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].style.display = '' } else { this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].style.display = 'none' }">The Infiltrators</div><div style="padding:4px;margin:1px;display:none;" class="hide2 postcolor"><div>
http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/19rattata.png
<span class="harper">Amethyst</span>
Ubiquitous enough to be invisible. Paired with the psionic teammates, Thyst could get into target locations and take an innocuous look around without anyone being the wiser while Amber or Citrine conveyed what they were experiencing through sharing senses outright or summarizing. Trained to be a poison-sniffer. [Thyst, I'm picturing to be highly social. They feel they have no need to evolve in such a protected unit, and do their job better, smaller. Thyst would also make a habit of riding on Hound's shoulder whenever they could get away with it, picking up on his kick for heights.]

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/92gastly.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/93haunter.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/94gengar.png
<span class="harper">Tourmaline</span>
Can quite literally be invisible, as well as phase through solid objects. Tourmaline would have similar utility as compared to Citrine, and I could see the two of them hitting it off in a "friendly rival" sort of relationship. The concept of a former life and the trigger that comes from it also has quite a bit of story potential on it's own, making a gastly an appealing concept. [Waffling a few different backstory concepts at the moment that would differentiate possible personality outcomes.]

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/41zubat.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/42golbat.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/169crobat.png
<span class="harper">Spinel</span>
Air support - and could take Thyst up to whatever location needed. Due to Hound's often nocturnal heists, having a flyer who could see at night would be a great boon to him while still being utterly common enough to blend in without second thought until final evolution. [OOCly, zubat has been the plague since RBY came out, but I have never actually used one until Sun/Moon. They're surprisingly good pokemon.]

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/10caterpie.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/11metapod.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/12butterfree.png
<span class="harper">Opal</span>
Secondary air support and a status sweeper - ultimately very practical, while still being another
species that wouldn't attract attention. [Social dynamics, Opal and Thyst would likely end up being close. Opal may have a strong desire to prove themselves in battle, too, which would see Hound treating her with an unexpected level of respect. Though he's started accepting prey species, he would rather they be protected if possible. Not for Opal.]

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/167spinarak.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/168ariados.png
<span class="harper">Jasper</span>
Another ubiquitous, low-key lurker. Spiders in general are highly methodical, which would mesh well with Hound and his systems while doubling as a trapper. [Picturing a rather antagonistic relationship between Jasper and Tryst, as Jasper would embody Hound's old rules and do their best to convince him to go back to it. Eat or be eaten would be Jasper's motto.]

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/223remoraid.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/224octillery.png
<span class="harper">Alexandrite</span>
Named after a stone that changes colors, this exceptionally intelligent pokemon would be Hound's potentially third water-type, also ubiquitously common in ports. By this point in time he'll have to have at least faced some of his fears of water on land in order to make the partnership work. But since Alexandrite can blend with its surroundings via chromatophores, it makes an excellent infiltrator who can squeeze through very tight spaces. [Basing personality off of IRL octopi, which would be a constant measure of curiosity and doing whatever it can to alleviate boredom.]</div></div></div><div class="hideborder"><div class="spoilertitle" style="margin:1px;cursor:pointer;padding:4px;" onclick="if (this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].style.display == 'none') { this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].style.display = '' } else { this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].style.display = 'none' }">The Muscle</div><div style="padding:4px;margin:1px;display:none;" class="hide2 postcolor"><div>
http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/509.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/510.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif
<span class="harper">Ametrine</span>
Though initially wary from changing hands multiple times, at heart Ametrine is a lover rather than a fighter; but becomes a fierce protector of her growing family with maturation. Very much a "Team Mom" personality, and she sees the littler of their acquisitions as something of her kits. But that doesn't mean she won't push them - to be strong is to survive.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/403shinx.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/404luxio.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/405luxray.png
<span class="harper">Topaz</span>
Nice kitty. Electric types are infinitely useful in a real-world capacity, for tricks or for combat - and as a mature adult, Topaz would be able to see through walls. Pats Hound's slight paranoia on the head, there. [Topaz would add some more fire to Hound's team, probably in a "larger than life" personality and no small amount of pride.]

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/273seedot.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/274nuzleaf.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/275shiftry.png
<span class="harper">Agate</span>
Perhaps one of the only grass-types that would actually work well with Hound, a clever half-dark that climbs as readily as he does. Though it would be equally suited to infiltration as it would be to battle as a nuzleaf, evolution would put it firmly in the second bracket. [Playful, but in a dangerous way. Prone to sport hunting.]

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/209snubbul.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/210granbull.png
<span class="harper">Quartz</span>
Poor thing looks like it lost a fight with a swinging door according to Hound, but as a fairy-dog, senses are acute and it's known for it's brute strength. Also takes care of potential dragons, providing Quartz can actually reach them. [Picturing a fierce, go-getter personality. Possible rivalry with Hematite over who is the alpha dog in their pack, even if they both respect Hound as the true alpha.]

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/298azuril.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/183maril.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/184azumarill.png
<span class="harper">Lapis</span>
Hound is honestly leery of large groups of water in a calm setting, and in the right setting ... he's downright afraid. So he doesn't particularly want a large water-type that could pose a risk of drowning, but the squishy little thing is a workable compensation for his team's weaknesses. [Possible trickster-fae type personality, foiling Hound's hopeful intentions with the species.]

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/341corphish.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/342crawdaunt.png
<span class="harper">Ruby</span>
The alternative to Lapis, or possibly even partner in crime. As Hound works with mostly predators, having him work with a predator who has the fully capacity to drown him would keep him on his toes for reasons he'd rather not talk about.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/207gligar.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/472gliscor.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335252.gif
<span class="harper">Charoite</span>
Charoite, formerly Conrad before he joined the growing family, is very much a law and order sort. He provide a mature balance on par with Ametrine's more motherly nature after her evolution, and acts as a foil to the more impetuous of their group. Charoite will also, in the future, act as something of an advisor and due to his background, is the type to enjoy discussing strategy.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/23ekans.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/24arbok.png
<span class="harper">Chalcedony</span>
Just a niggling thought - but not all muscle has to be fast, and having Chal play two roles while being loaded with venom ... there are reasons that Hound works with predators. [Though not as strictly hardwired to the "eat or be eaten" mandate as Jasper, Chal would be very calculating and operate on a risk versus reward factor. Would prefer to sleep near Amber.]</div></div></div><div class="hideborder"><div class="spoilertitle" style="margin:1px;cursor:pointer;padding:4px;" onclick="if (this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].style.display == 'none') { this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].style.display = '' } else { this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].style.display = 'none' }">The Transportation & Unique</div><div style="padding:4px;margin:1px;display:none;" class="hide2 postcolor"><div>
http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/84doduo.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/85dodrio.png
<span class="harper">Mica</span>
Named after a type of stone commonly found in the desert, doduo are a plain, reliable form of transportation that Hound is honestly probably going to steal from a stable.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/58growlithe.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/59arcanine.png
<span class="harper">Beryl</span>
Though they would be more than just transportation, given arcanine are excellent companions and fierce in battle, Beryl would be Hound's land transportation of choice once he no longer has need to blend in.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/x_and_y/Klefki.png
<span class="harper">Silver</span>
A fairy key-collector. How is this not perfect for a thief? (Even if that thief is moving into slow-motion retirement and resurfacing as a law-abiding citizen ...)

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/328trapinch.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/329vibrava.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/330flygon.png
<span class="harper">Malachite</span>
Although among the most eye-catching of his spread, this eventual acquisition could be the pride of Hound's desert heritage once he's a Guardian.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/447riolu.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/448lucario.png
<span class="harper">Labrodorite</span>
Hound is always hungry for stories, and the ballad of the Harper has stuck with him since he was but a child. The nature of the Harper's chosen partner fascinates him, even if he has his doubts that he'd be worthy of such a legendary dog.</div></div></div><div class="hideborder"><div class="spoilertitle" style="margin:1px;cursor:pointer;padding:4px;" onclick="if (this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].style.display == 'none') { this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].style.display = '' } else { this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].style.display = 'none' }">Other pokemon that could find a home with him ...</div><div style="padding:4px;margin:1px;display:none;" class="hide2 postcolor"><div>Let's be honest, Hound just loves dogs, period. So I gotta update this.

Jezenya

user posted image ---> BrindleNinetales

Sekhmet is Jez's starter and the core of the team, mainly because she refuses to be anything else. She's pretty vain as a Vulpix but will mellow out and be much more practical as a Ninetales, which is really when she'll contribute to the team overall.

user posted image
Anuket is the offensive fighter. She focuses on physical damage and taking the enemy by surprise, relying on her speed and vicious claws to overcome her foes.

user posted image
Apedemak is going to be a Leafeon, and he'll focus on status damage- draining health, paralyzing, putting foes to sleep, etc. He can be really annoying to deal with solo but he's particularly dangerous if paired with one of the offensive fighters.

user posted image
It's a Ninetales AND ice?!?! Sadly there's only the 3D sprites for this guy, but I guess that's okay. Going to be male, because Sekhmet can have a boyfriend then. Also, you know, he knows ice moves, so he can fight. Clearly I've thought this out beyond "it looks pretty."

user posted image
Kingdra are pretty darn powerful, and with a Lugia's Pearl allowing her to float, this lady would be a formidable pokemon to challenge. She's the sweeper, the one who comes in at the end to clean up any lingering enemies that the others have already weakened.

Dancing ghost bird. Enough said.

For Felicia, who hasn't had her profile posted yet... also, I've set her team theme around dungeons and dragons roles/classes, for the most part.

http://i54.tinypic.com/6eql3q.jpg OR http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/134vaporeon.png ( http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif preferred )
Ideally her starter, but RNJesus has a 3 in (just under) 800 chance, so hey. Maybe one will be obtained in some other way...? Anyway, Felicia's looking for an adaptable (and loyal) companion to become her main partner. Seeing as I'm planning to set Felicia up to start in Cypwater, both have the potential to thrive here, though I'm not sure which I prefer for her.

Regardless of which I pick, I envision a calm foil to Felicia's lack of chill, or perhaps at least good at acting. Sneaky, probably rogue-like to some extent. Likely Umbreon will be more about the intimidation (to some degree) whereas Vaporeon is more persuasive or at least a good little actress.

Shininess on the umbreon would be cool, but not at all expected.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/x_and_y/Chesnaught.png ( http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335252.gif ) or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/306aggron.png ( http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335252.gif )
The taaaaaank. Leaning towards the former at the minute, though. This guy's here for muscle and to protect the squishies when things go wrong. Very patient and enduring. Depending on their general rarity (because boi I'm deliberately not looking at them whilst I make this) I'll probably have to go for something else temporarily for Felicia to use. Possible hero complex or battle hardened old pokemon.

High defence, high attack, low speed. Aggron has the added advantage of being a surf mount, too. Likely to butt heads with Felicia or feign laziness for kicks.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/skin_images/724_zpsfz2nbj1b.png ( http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335252.gif ) or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/530.png ( http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335252.gif or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif )
If I go with the Decidueye, he's a fellow ranged support/spy. Probably the pokemon Felicia's going to end up styling herself after if the fashion police doesn't get her first. I'm envisioning a skilled sharpshooter who's initially wary of Felicia but ends up warming up to her to the point where he takes it on himself to bond with her. Dad friend. Who's going to teach who, though? (Gonna find a way to get both roost & toxic on him, though - its useful, I swear)

Excadrill hasn't been developed much, but I'm thinking infiltrator/skirmisher. Veeeery useful for digging.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/6charizard.png ( http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335252.gif )
Flying mount and provider of warmth. Scary mama dragon. Or daddy dragon, whatever.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/141kabutops.png ( http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif )
Another rogue. This one's an assassin. Slices and dices her foes. Speedy stealthy ninja type. Not affectionate.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/454toxicroak.png ( http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335252.gif )
Another assassin. Good with poisons and will aid in poisoning weapons or enemies for Felicia. Sticks close to Kabutops; makes a great partner.

Everyone barring the starter gets rotated whenever Felicia pleases it. Shrug emoji.

Nye Vaughan's Dream Team

-- [the core five] --
http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/355duskull.png -> http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/356dusclops.png -> http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/477dusknoir.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335252.gif
Duskull is Nye’s starter Pokemon, and probably his best friend. Nye wouldn’t put Duskull into storage unless it was absolutely needed, and even then, it’d probably only be for a short while. Duskull’s personality of being carefree and willing to jump into everything is definitely the opposite of Nye’s more subdued and quieter personality. Duskull’s position on the team is the cheeky and adventurous Pokemon who always has a heart willing to support his handler.
Team Dynamic: frenemies with Houndour; supports Slowpoke; bonds quick to Litleo and Shinx

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/228houndour.png -> http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/229houndoom.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif
Houndour was the first Pokemon, besides Duskull, which Nye caught himself. She’s a stubborn little girl who balances out the team both in personality and in determination. Houndour is a very strong willed and stubborn Pokemon who grew up on the streets until she met Nye. She didn’t give him the time of day right away, and often times, is the baseboard of what he thinks of in terms of a good decision. In the future, when she feels Nye isn’t taking his journey seriously, she’s going to literally drag her paws and start off a different way – often making Nye follow after.
Team Dynamic: frenemies with Duskull; supports Rockruff; bonds quick to Staryu

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/x_and_y/Chespin.png -> http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/x_and_y/Quilladin.png -> http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/x_and_y/Chesnaught.png
Chespin is definitely going to be someone that Nye relies on more than anything once its egg hatches. Chespin’s personality is going to be adventurous and curious, almost similar to Duskull, but when it comes to it, Chespin is going to be the wall and support of the entire team. Chespin is going to be fiercely loyal to not only Nye, but to every single Pokemon Nye captures, and will happily try to move mountains to support the group. In battle, this little Pokemon will be the barrier to support the rest of the team, often being the one to take more hits to open up possible attacks from their teammates.
Team Dynamic: bonds quick to Poliwag and Pancham; has nice adventures with Duskull; enjoys hanging out with Staryu

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/744_zpstjz9da9p.png -> http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/745_N_zpstihjpfka.png
Rockruff is a Pokemon that Nye is going to bond rather quick with, which is really weird for Nye. Out of all of the Pokemon, Rockruff is going to be rather laid back, but very easily annoyed. Rockruff is the clear similar and different version of Nye. Nye is laid back and go with the flow, whereas Rockruff is laid back, but tends to get wound up over the silliest things. It’s why, when evolution is possible, the Rockruff evolves into the Midnight form verses the Midday form. With this in mind, Midnight Lycanroc will be one of the three fighters on the group.
Team Dynamics: as Rockruff, strong bond with Litleo and Shinx; as Lycanroc, strong bond with Poliwag and Pangoro

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/60poliwag.png -> http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/61plowhirl.png -> http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/62poliwrath.png
Poliwag is going to be one of the fighters of the group, alongside Pancham and eventually Lycanroc. To start with, Poliwag is one of the few water Pokemon who have “feet” and can, for the most part, survive on land without many problems, but in the water, it’s one of the quicker Pokemon. Poliwag is going to definitely be a strong fighter as it evolves, and once it hits its final stage, it will be one of the more well-rounded fighters on Nye’s team. Poliwrath will be either support alongside Chespin, or attack alongside Pancham and Rockruff’s final forms. It also helps by doubling as one of the many transport Pokemon on Nye’s team.
Team Dyanmics: supports Chespin, Pancham, and Rockruff; bonds quickly with Staryu and Slowpoke

-- [rotation pokemon] --
http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/x_and_y/Litleo.png -> http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/x_and_y/Pyroar_male.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335252.gif
Between Rockruff and Litleo, Nye will have a challenge on his hands. Litleo are notoriously eager for fights, which is something that Nye is extremely hesitant about, and that is what makes this Pokemon perfect for his rotations. Litleo is a fiery little cub who doesn’t think twice before acting, and it will clearly put a strain on Nye’s view of the world. When Litleo evolves, that will be another challenge – as the Pokedex says that a Pyroar’s mane is up to 10,000 degrees F, it’ll be something that Nye will be extremely uncomfortable by. Litleo / Pyroar will definitely be the one Pokemon that Nye is going to struggle with the most.
Team Dynamics: best friends with Shinx; always rubs shoulders against Rockruff

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/403shinx.png -> http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/404luxio.png -> http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/405luxray.png
Sort of a counter balance to Litleo’s more… fightable side, Shinx will be definitely subtler and more self focused. Shinx will have a personality that isn’t quite independent, and isn’t entirely dependent, either; it’ll often take the road it’s pressured on, but will also try to find their own path at the same time. This Pokemon is in rotation because it’s a general overall well rounded Pokemon, with a good hankering of attack. Not only that, but the hidden ability, if granted, is definitely something that would be a good aspect to Nye’s team.
Team Dynamic: counter balance to Litleo; bonds quick to Duskull; bonds quick to Chespin

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/120staryu.png -> http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/121starmie.png
Staryu is one of Nye’s more versatile Pokemon, especially when it comes to being either on land, or in the water. Staryu is notoriously one of the fastest, if not the fastest on Nye’s team, and this will only highlight more once it evolves to Starmie. Staryu will be a bit of a proud and stubborn character, like Houndour, but will put itself to great height to achieve more skill and freedom than any other member of Nye’s team. It’ll be a bit arrogant, and a bit of a brat when it feels like it’s done the best of the best. Staryu, overall, will definitely be one of Nye’s favorite rotational Pokemon.
Team Dynamics: stubborn rivalry with Houndour; speedy fights against Litleo

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/x_and_y/Pancham.png -> http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/x_and_y/Pangoro.png
Pancham is definitely one of the stranger Pokemon on Nye’s team, and Nye can’t exactly explain why. A part of it is because the Pancham will be extremely playful and silly, while trying to maintain a serious and intimidating look, but is also trying to be a strong Pokemon, sort of similar to Rockruff. Pancham will round out the fighters of Nye’s team, especially with the high attack power, but will also enable Pancham, and Nye, to grow as a duo. Pancham, once evolved, will be one of the mounts of Nye’s team, being versatile in short water distances if need be, or being able to move about on land.
Team Dynamic: strong relationship with Chespin and Poliwag; rivals with Rockruff

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/79slowpoke.png -> http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/199slowking.png
Despite the slow nature of a Slowpoke, this Pokemon will be a good rotational Pokemon for Nye’s team. Slowpokes have high HP, and are generally well rounded in attack and defense, both in and out of special moves. While Slowpoke might not be Nye’s favorite at first, but with work and dedication, the two are going to be an unlikely pair. Once Slowpoke evolves into Slowking, Nye’s understanding with it will be even greater. The Pokemon might be slower on land and in the water, but the ability of a stronger Sp. Attack and Sp. Defense will make this one of the more valuable Pokemon in Nye’s team. Not only that, the Pokemon is able to be used as one of Nye’s various transports, which will come in handy.
Team Dynamics: curious and protective of Duskull; tends to be laid back and a sounding board against Houndour

-- [indecisive about] --
The following Pokemon and their lines are as an on come, if given situation, although not necessarily against in terms of the dream team line up. AKA: basically Pokemon W can see with Nye if they're given a chance to be caught, but not necessarily required or desperate for.

Simon Hunter

Current Team

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/193yanma.png > http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/469yanmega.png

Kairos is a natural scout and phenomenal support pokemon but given his childish and erratic nature Simon has his work cut out for him in taking full advantage of those traits. He was Simon's starter pokemon and has a weak point for his handler as Simon has a weak point for his starter.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/56mankey.png > http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/57primeape.png

Reshi is rarity in that he is both a skilled fighter and a rather calm and collected Mankey, his species natural predilection for angry outbursts aside. He is squarely and obligatorily placed in the category of 'enforcer' on Simon's team, tactically applying force when needed.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/374beldum.png > http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/375metang.png > http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/376metagross.png

Errol was meek and often avoided combat as a Beldum but once he evolved, in a very short amount of time with Simon, he became something different all together. He became confident. The benefits to having an insanely intelligent Metang who can also excel in combat defensively and offensively are many and Errol and Simon are finding that out together.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/207gligar.png > http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/472gliscor.png

Isadora has a connection with Simon based on many things the chief of which is Kairos the Yanma. Simon and Isadora both see him as a young immature pokemon that has potential and they both want him to realize that potential. Outside of this Isadora is sharp, driven and protective.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/114tangela.png > http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/465tangrowth.png

Jugo is tired...like all the time. It is obvious and he doesn't seem to care if people know this fact or not. He is extremely dependable and a wonderfully silly pokemon when his attention can be garnered in any real capacity however. When this happens he is somewhat reckless but acts as a very competent defensive pokemon with an inclination for status effects and special attacks.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/335zangoose.png

Zangoose, who is yet to be named, is currently resting comfortably in an egg that will be hatching very soon. Simon's team will all relish in the thought of molding his/her young mind in his/her formative years. I think he/she will be rather fond of cuddling with Simon.

Next in Line (ASAP)

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/261poochyena.png > http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/262mightyena.png

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/506.png > http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/507.png > http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/508.png

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/228houndour.png > http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/229houndoom.png

Simon craves the companionship of a canine pokemon, in a large sense as a surrogate to his family and freinds he hasn't seen in over a year. This is a must for him and he will be actively seeking a pokemon like this in the present. I chose those three pokemon because they were ubiquitous and I think an easy to find pokemon in this category is better than something rare that is attention grabbing for many reasons. This pokemon may be more of a mascot than a combat pokemon...who knows!

With the starters rolled and chosen, I've juggled the team a bit. Umbreon and Vaporeon both get to get put on rotation, so...

Some of this post is still WIP, but I've had a start.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/282gardevoir.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif
Ariathra, the starter. Initially wary of her new owner, this cautious ralts is eventually going to become a very empathetic Gardevoir that will challenge and confuse Felicia. She's going to be a challenge to raise and work with considering Ariathra wouldn't approve of Felicia's selfish nature and so forth. However, she's the humanity that is an efficient foil and ultimately provides the morals to a team that lies on the wrong side of the law.

The mom friend and translator. Probably based on a cleric DNDwise? Likely I'll have her specialise in supporting and healing moves.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/x_and_y/Chesnaught.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335252.gif or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/306aggron.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/563.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335252.gif or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/465tangrowth.png or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/36clefable.png
Still haven't decided on who I want to be the tank, but now there are more options. yay. Tangrowth because of her dead father previously owning one, and maybe that'll tie into the story somehow, and Clefable because it'll make people either underestimate her or help her with deception. Chesnaught's a little like that, too, but eh.

Tanky type. Paladin, potentially. Pretty laid back for the most part, really good with kids.

Ranged support/archer. Looks like a badass who's quiet and serious, probably a very awkward and solitary individual. I haven't developed him much more than that yet.

Flying mount and provider of warmth. Scary mama dragon. Or daddy dragon, whatever. Horrible temper when provoked - pretty grumpy all around. Felicia must earn their respect, and its going to be difficult. Can be defiant if they think Felicia's orders are ridiculous or whatever.

And, yes, they're going to be attracted to starting fires. This is the arsonist.

Sort of a mage??? A flying battle mage or whatever. Charizards make good flying mounts too!

I want all of the listed options for combat reasons. Some have additional benefits.

I'M REDOING THIS because I actually put thought into it now.

No need for specific egg moves/abilities. Jez tends to enjoy power and aesthetic more than anything else, and she doesn't train pokemon to be the "best fighter evar." She trains for the challenge, and she likes powerful pokemon because she herself has poor fighting skills and needs protection.

It's been a long time since I've done one of these, but I was thinking about Lilith's team today. There are a lot of pokemon that she could work with and wouldn't mind having...it's just that I think there's very few that would make her main team. I'm really looking forward to adding a few more pokemon to her team so I can expose the flaws in their relationships and create conflict and drama http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/emoticons/8.png

Lilith's Main Team

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/561.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335252.gif
From the distant past where Carni convinced me of him in the c-box, Sigi has been an essential part of Lilith's team. He thinks of Lilith as something like an adopted sister, although since Sigilyph don't tend to have siblings he'd call her luqa, which when downplayed means something like "permanent patrol partner" and otherwise means "best friend for life" - and Sigilyph live a long time.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/38ninetails.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif
Rai will eventually evolve and become a Ninetales (upon which time she will insist on being called V'nyarai or V'nya, throwing off "Rai" as a childish nickname). She respects Sigi but doesn't like his psychic nature. She cares about Lilith but doesn't truly respect her. Her temper and her pride will increase when she evolves, as will her determination to be calm and controlled and help people.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/745_D_zpszdfe13xw.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335252.gif
This pokemon would be useful to Lilith in Miramossa, being able to easily travel the desert and the hills. He could serve as a partner for Rai if they got along (as Lilith doesn't like Rai fighting on her own and Sigi doesn't like to leave Lilith). I feel like he would suit her current team 'style'. He would be a kind of sly, rough around the edges, and laugh-in-the-face-of-death kind of character. He'd probably encourage Lilith's wilder ideas and would enjoy needling the rest of the team. He'd meet them fully evolved and he'd definitely have a past that influenced a lot of his behaviour.

Lilith's Secondary Team
(pokemon that don't want to stay with Lilith all the time, can't stay with her all the time, or that she doesn't want to keep around all the time. any of these could move to the main team depending on personality)

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/94gengar.png or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/354banette.png
It's just practical to have a ghost type. Lilith won't like it and Sigi won't like it, but I'm sure it'll happen someday. I'm not sure Lilith will ever really trust this pokemon - it depends on their personality. Gengar are interesting because of their mythology in regards to shadows and the cold. Banette aren't my favourite, but one of them could work very well with Lilith. Though they don't appear to actually be the spirit of an abandoned doll, that could be an interesting plot point because Lilith has definitely abandoned a doll as a child.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/36clefable.png or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/531.png or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/x_and_y/Sylveon.png
Both Clefable and Audino could - in theory - do double duty as a healer and a dragon killer. Sylveon would be purely a dragon killer. They apparently distract prey with their 'ribbons' which sounds like it could echo some of the old stories about the Fae. It'd be fun to explore that, or to see how an Audino or Clefable would fit into Lilith's team. It's possible that Lilith would end up with two of these three pokemon, but it'd be a matter of timing and personality.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/586_sawsbuck_autumn_front_norm.png or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/x_and_y/Gogoat.png
Lilith prefers to fly with Sigi - or teleport with him - when going places, but at some point she'll realize there's a place for a land mount on her team. She has a preference for Sawsbuck, but Gogoat's also a possibility.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/197umbreon.png or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/359absol.png or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/571.png
Lilith feels comfortable around dark types and would like one on her team. A Zoroark would be difficult to write, but could be very rewarding in the end. An Absol and their ability to sense disasters and want to warn others is fascinating and mixes well with Lilith. An Umbreon is probably the most similar to her mother's Liepard. It's also possible she'd pick up a Mightyena, a Sneasel, or a Pangoro, but even if she had those she might still want one of these pokemon.

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/131lapras.png or http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/c480fd45-741_Po_zps3aplwgvi.png
She needs a water mount too, and she likes Lapras. If Wishiwashi school form turns out to be a water mount, she'll consider that as well (they scare Gyarados!).

Outside Possibilities
(pokemon that could end up on the main or secondary team, but it depends on personality and plot - of course, this is only my idea of these pokemon. when it comes down to it, Lilith could not like them or the mod could throw in a completely different pokemon that she falls in love with)
http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/184azumarill.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/778_zps3djcyyr5.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/026_1_zps3at20xfd.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/547.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/2da57599-741_S_zpsfwhpcehf.png http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/754_zpsc5qf7mrg.png

Azumarill: Useful for helping people who are drowning and takes no damage from dragon types. I don't think Lilith would ever be very close to this pokemon (maybe they'd get along well but only superficially, maybe it'd be a bit of a brat and she'd have to bribe it) but she'd value having one.
Mimikyu: They're such interesting pokemon, Lilith would be intrigued. The question is if she could manage to keep herself from questioning it constantly...or being driven crazy wondering "what's underneath?"
Alola Raichu: They seem to fit right into Miramossa and the differences and similarities to Sigi's style of communication could create a good story.
Whimsicott: Could be fun, could be trouble, could be both.
Sensu Oricorio: I feel like this pokemon could be one of the few to make Lilith think about things more seriously
Lurantis: Would Lilith even be able to keep their colour vivid? It could give her a some stability to worry about that - perhaps this pokemon would stay home more often than it fought. Or maybe it'd be a fighter. I'd love to find out.

Also at some point Lilith will go shiny hunting for some vaguely plausible reason and while that may not result in her getting a shiny pokemon, it will hopefully result in her finding one. And if it's one of these pokemon that'll give her a proper test...

As a last note, Lilith does not like dragons and it would take an excellent plot to get her to train one. But she might like to train a pseudo-legendary like Tyranitar or Metagross. (And if she had to train a dragon type, Kommo-o or Drampa would be easiest for her).

...sorry for the epic post.

W.I.P.

Rotenda himself isn't looking for anything particular a t this time, however, plan on him being quite good at infiltration and information gthering, so there are a few I would like for him to eventually get. I imagine 3 for function and 3 for protection

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/571.png for illusionary assistance is sneaking into places, and perhaps to be seen in two places as once or escape surveillance, this pup's illusions could definitely by very useful to him. Moveset would definitely include imprison, substitute, dark pulse or extra sensory (both egg moves) [function]

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/169crobat.png He's just a personal favorite of mine, but a decent combatant Moveset would include : Astonish to fight ghost's or make suceptible targets flinch, Poison Fang for an attack that can poison harshly, shadow ball, thief, toxic, giga drain (egg move) [combat]

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/441chatot.png for the purpose of relaying messages, having a pokemon that can repeat a message verbatim to another human could be quite useful. In theory he/she could be replaced with nearly any psychic pokemon, though not be able to send messages as far away. Moveset : Rest, Sleep talk, Protect, substitute, these 4 moves would allow for quite the defensive strategy, while using boomburst (egg move) steel wing, fly, thief to attack [even if replaced with a psychic they would also be function based]

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/skin_images/738_zps3mudf3ja.png for some reason this guy has become one of my favorites. It has a decent offensive moveset for a bug and the levitate ability isn't too shabby either. Moveset: Flash Cannon, Volt switch, thunderbolt and toxic, x-scissor, mud shot (egg move) [combat]

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/461wavile.png useful for fighting, and follows the sneaky theme while helping steal things win/win Move set: {ability : pickpocket} ice beam, blizzard, focus blast, dark pulse, false <swipe to steal without killing> [both function and combat]

http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/352kecleon.png between ability to blend in and infiltrate, also a great combatant due to protean ability :Moveset ancient power, shadow sneak, psybeam, ice beam, grass knot, thunderbolt, dig, flame thrower, rock smash, {aqua tail + iron tail =move tutor} [Combat and function]

Mareanie

Gluttonous and toxic at the expense of imbalance, I think a mareanie would make a kind of poetic reflection on Bart himself. He's fixing to climb the social ladder on his parents' remains after all, without any real goals beyond the climb and to consume and hoard as much as he can while being dissatisfied deep down all the while. Also, he would like the disturbing cute face, the small size and the disproportionately huge amount of damage they can wreck + their natural hardiness.

Assuming he can "train" one without it killing him with its toxin first. It shouldn't be a first pick for a junior guardian, holy smoly.

Since Seaway is a marine city, a grass-type would be welcome I think. They are also amazing and pretty, and Bart doesn't have any pokemon wants but I know that I want one for him. Probably will build his team slowly though. Poor boy doesn't know much about handling aside from the theoretical...

I think I read somewhere on the site that natus are a thing in Doran Village, and a natu, being a psychic and a bird as well as a species that's naturally calm, will help Bart out quite a lot as well as remind him metaphorically of his farmer roots so far away from Seaway. Nowhere's really been a home for him, but wouldn't it just be deliciously nice that he gets yet another reminder that he doesn't belong? I wanna see how he resolves that or lets it stew and fester as a character, so!

[insert fairy-type here because Malami stans hard for fairies]

I just really, really like fairies.

Dream Team 2.0

Baron http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335252.gif
http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/261poochyena.png --> http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/262mightyena.png

Erland's starter and trusty, mischievous pooch will remain at the forefront of Erland's team. Being a stereotypical Guardian, having Baron--a dark-type--will prove to be a worthwhile challenge to further his growth.

Duchess http://files.jcink.net/uploads/harperregion/sprites/e335251.gif

Like a poochyena, a totodile is known for its tendency for biting. Training sessions will be needed to keep these two from killing each other (as I imagine them to be competitive counterparts), but I believe their rivalry will blossom into a beautiful friendship. The fact that they will evolve at roughly the same time and with the totodile having an extra evolution should only add to the shenanigans.
