Quick Updates

Weather Conditions

Season: Autumn

With the cooling season of Autumn, Ice-types are starting to re-emerge from their hibernation as Ghost-, Normal-, and Flying-types swarm in the largest numbers they will all year. In comparison, wild Fire- and Bug-type populations are falling in number. The migration of Flying-types to the south in search of warmer weather has also started, as Istin City starts to re-freeze and Autumn marks the beginning of Cypwater Point's rainy season. Handlers and Rogues alike should be wary: Ghost-type powers are boosted during this season, at the cost of being more prone to their triggers.

Kennith was on the hunt, chasing her prey. Flame sniffed the ground at her side as they were nearing the edge of the city. The buildings became sparse with more and more distance between. Coralie Dain wasn't going nowhere. Ken had full intentions to stop the rogue in her tracks. Flame veered off to the side, sniffing in the dirt. He barked shrilly before taking off with even more loud barking just as a huge blast of fire shot up into the air followed by a shriek. "Come on Flame!" Ken cried, putting on a burst of speed. She rounded a corner just in time for a Pokemon to slam into her, throwing Ken to the ground.

Ken groaned as she pushed herself to her feet, Flame whimpering at her side. Ken looked up just in time to see her prey disappear around the corner of a building. Ken gently picked up the Pokemon on her belly to see a frightened Sandshrew. It was whimpered at Ken's touch and seemed to shrink into itself. The Sandshrew had been hit hard by that Fire Spin. "Hey, its okay," Ken cooed to the small Pokemon. It looked up at her briefly before squealing, rolling into a ball, and spinning away, zooming past a building and disappearing from view. Ken sighed as she watched it leave, getting back to her feet. "Come on Flame, time to make that rogue pay." Flame barked his agreement, just as they continued the chase.

Ken closed her eyes, creating a map of the city in her mind. She had grown up here and knew this city like the back of her hand. Knowing the direction Coralie had gone off, she could take a different route and cut the bounty off. "Flame this way," Ken ordered, twisting down another alley onto the main road. The sun beat down harshly, causing sweat to bead up on Ken's brow and making her unbearably hot. Ken gasped for breath just as she turned another corner to come face to face with her prey.

Coralie stumbled to a halt, stunned. How had the Guardian caught up with her so fast? A Solrock floated silently by her side, tense and waiting to fight their way out of here. "Loki I choose you!" Ken cried, summoning Loki with a flash. Loki appeared on the ground, sitting back on her haunches and beginning to groom. "Loki get up and fight!" Ken cried, willing Loki to ready herself for battle, unfortunately Loki didn't listen to her handler.

Coralie smiled to herself, balling her hands into fists. "Sunny use Flare Blitz!" The Solrock became engulfed in flames before beginning its charge on Loki. Loki opened one eyes, taking notice of the enemy Pokemon, before leaping into the air and twisting out of the way and landing on a pile of rubble, continuing to groom herself.

"Loki please do something!" Ken demanded in a whining voice. Loki rolled her eyes before leaping off her pile of rubble and tackling the Solrock. It fell to the ground in surprise, just about to rise into the air before Loki leaped into the air and launched a powerful Dark Pulse attack down on the enemy. The Solrock hummed in pain before collapsing back to the ground having taken the super effective move. Coralie growled under her breath before calling back her Pokemon. "Thicket use Grass Knot!" Coralie cried, sending out her Leafeon. Instantly its eyes glowed green and tufts of grass shot out from the ground, wrapping not only around Loki's ankle but also Ken's and Flame's. "Good bye!" Coralie cried in a cheerful, mocking tone as she slid past, running back down the street and disappearing from view.

Ken cursed under her breath as she struggled to rip herself free to no avail. Finally she drew her sword and cut herself free of the grass before doing the same to Flame and Loki. Flame whimpered in his rush to continue the chase, waiting for his handler's signal. Ken called Loki back into her pokeball before quickly following after Flame. The dog Pokemon barked loudly as he tore down the road, following Coralie's scent easily. Suddenly Flame grounded to a halt, whimpering and sniffing the ground back and forth in confusion. "Lost the scent?" Ken guess just as a loud shriek erupted into the air and a powerful beam of light slammed into Flame. He yelped in pain, flying into the air and skidding along the ground.

"Flame!" Ken cried, running to his aid. He whimpered in pain before pushing himself to his paws and shaking out his fur. "Are you alright?" Ken asked. Flame barked softly, nodding his head. "Flame use Morning Sun," Ken whispered gently into Flame's ear as he began to glow softly, regaining some of his lost health. "Thicket Energy Ball," Coralie ordered as the green ball began to form in Leafeon's mouth.

Ken looked up to glare at the duo as they stood above them on a large pile of rubble leaning against one building. Ken squinted her eyes to see them as they were outlined by the bright sunlight. "Flame!" Ken cried, yanking him out of the way as the Leafeon shot off his Energy Ball. It was then the Morning Sun ended and Flame pushed himself to his paws with a vicious growl. "Flame use Flamethrower," Ken murmured to the Growlithe.

Flame growled before releasing his Flamethrower in a burst headed straight for the Leafeon. Coralie rolled out of the way, leaping to the ground and quickly followed by her Leafeon who expertly dodged the attack. "Thicket use Sunny Day," Coralie ordered just as the Leafeon shot a bright beam of light skyward and the sun came out even stronger than before. "Now use Solar Beam!"

Flame yelped in fear as the beam of light was shot at him in a single turn. Flame squeezed his eyes shut, waiting for the finishing blow when something shot out in front of him, a protective wall thrown up to deflect the Solar Beam. The Sandshrew uncurled from its ball.

The Sandshrew uncurled from its ball, tense and ready to flee if things got to dangerous. She was already looking for a way out. She knew helping this trainer was a bad idea. But the Guardian had tried to help her when she had been attacked by that bad handler. Surely the required some loyalty? Oh she didn't know! She was so confused! The Growlithe barked his thanks. "Thank you so much! I'd be dead if it weren't for you!" Sandshrew looked at the grateful dog from the corner of her eyes with a simple nod of acknowledgement. "You're welcome," she murmured.

"Just stop the talking! I can take care of both of you with my eyes closed!" the Leafeon demanded, his face twisted into a snarl.

"Thicket use Solar Beam again!" Coralie cried. The Leafeon smiled a wicked smile before shooting off the attack. Sandshrew shoved into Flame, forcing them both out of the way as the Solar Beam crashed into building, tearing a giant hole in the wall. "Leafeon keep using Solar Beam!" Coralie ordered.

Sandshrew and Flame both ducked through the whole in the building, Sandshrew urging Flame to run away. "But what about Ken?" he ordered, his voice a whimper. "Forget her, she's better off than us," Sandshrew scolded as Leafeon gave chase, using one other Solar Beam. Sandshrew rolled out of the way along with Flame, running out the other end of the building and disappearing from view. Flame risked a glance over his shoulder and found himself whimpering when he didn't see Ken chase after them. For that matter he didn't Coralie either.

"This way," Sandshrew ordered, pushing him down one alley. Sandshrew led the Growlithe, twisting and turning down one street after another, the Leafeon in hot pursuit. Eventually Sandshrew ground to a halt, gasping for breath. She looked behind her to see the Leafeon gone. She sighed in relief. "Okay we'll be safe here," Sandshrew reassured Growlithe.

"Great, then let's go find my handler," Flame growled, the hint of a whinny on his voice.

Sandshrew shook her head. "And run into that bad trainer. I don't think so, that would be suicide."

Flame stood up to the Sandshrew then, placing one paw down firmly. "Fine then you stay here but I'm going to find Ken. You know she tried to help you and this is how you repay her! You ungrateful Pokemon," Flame growled, forcing his way past the ground type. Sandshrew sighed, growling under her breath as this violated her entire being. "Fine I'll help you."

"Really!" Flame yelped, whirling around to face the Sandshrew. "Oh thank you!" he lurched forward to lick happily at her face.

Sandshrew yelped, jumping back. "Stop that!" Sandshrew protested. "Besides a mutt like you could never find your way around this place. Not to mention help you avoid that Leafeon. He won't stop you know."

Flame whimpered, bowing his head. "I know," he muttered just as Sandshrew slid past him taking the lead. She would start by taking him back to where they had last seen his handler. Flame meanwhile started sniffing the air and ground as he followed after her, smelling for the Leafeon or hopefully his handler.

After a while of walking, Sandshrew turned around to face Flame. "Well we're here!" she announced.

"What!?" Flame popped his head up from the ground instantly. "What do you mean 'we're here'?"

"I mean this is where your handler used to be," Sandshrew explained in her most patient voice.

"And where I am."

The Leafeon leaped to the ground from the roof of one building, his glare burning with hate. Sandshrew lurched back, cowering away from the powerful Pokemon. Flame on the other hand growled and stepped forward to meet the Leafeon's challenge. "Let us pass," he growled, baring his fangs.

"Ahh... Is the little puppy upset," the Leafeon purred in a mocking tone. "Well tough luck," Leafeon growled, crouching down and ready to pounce.

Flame threw his head back and launched a his best Ember attack. Leafeon ducked and rolled out of the way easily, leaping to her paws. "My turn," he hissed, leaping into the air and launching a Razor Leaf down on the Growlithe. Flame yelped shrilly as the Razor Leaf slammed down into him, forcing him into the ground.

Flame forced himself back to his paws, refusing to back down. He engulfed himself in flames before charging forward in a Flame Charge. Leafeon tried to twist out of the way but wasn't quick enough and Flame slammed into the Leafeon. The Leafeon yelped, skidding along the ground before pushing himself to his feet easily. A growl rumbled from his throat, leaf tail whipping the air, swinging from left to right.

Sandshrew's eyes darted around for a quick exit. "Oh no you don't," Leafeon growled, seeing the Sandshrew's tactics. A Grass Knot shot out from the ground, wrapping around Sandshrew's ankle and holding her tight. "None of you are escaping."

Flame for the first moment looked doubtful and he felt fear at their predicament. They both needed a quick and easy escape route. How could he ever stand up to this powerful Pokemon. Flame growled before charging forward with another Flame Charge. But this time instead of ramming into the Leafeon, he got in close, veered to the side, and shot out a powerful Flamethrower.

The Leafeon screamed as he was thrown up into the air and fell back with a thud, skidding along the ground. It was then Sandshrew quickly joined Flame's side. Flame looked at her with surprise. "How'd you get out of the Grass Knot?" he asked. "I used Rapid Spin," she explained quickly.

The Leafeon struggled to get up, seriously injured from Flame's attack. Before Leafeon could recover, Flame barked loudly with a Roar attack and Leafeon disappeared into red light, returning to his pokeball wherever that may be.

Flame's sides heaved with the effort to breath. "Come on let's find my handler," he gasped, legs trembling slightly with exhaustion. He sniffed the ground, walking back and forth till he caught Ken's scent, beginning to move along the scent trail. The travel was easy from there, twisting and turning down alleys till finally as the sun was dipping lower through the sky, the duo came upon them. Ken was crouched at Fruitfly's side, protecting her from the Shinx which stood with sparks flying from its fur. Coralie stood further back, watching with satisfaction as Ken struggled to beat her. Flame yelped and whimpered as he saw how badly Ken was losing, the clearing scattered with trash and rubble, a piece of one building breaking and crumbling off. How did things get this bad?

(While Flame and Sandshrew were fleeing the powerful Leafeon, disappearing through a gaping hole in one building, Ken was busy fighting off her own attacker, using everything at her disposal to gain the upper hand...)

"Flame!" Ken cried, turning to run to his aid.

"Ziggy, block her!" Coralie ordered, summoning a Zigzagoon from its pokeball. The Zigzagoon appeared just in front of Ken, shoulders hunched and teeth bared in a hiss, the spikes along its back raised threateningly.

Ken stumbled back a few steps, gritting her teeth in frustration. She pulled a pokeball from her bag, gripping it tightly. "Go Loki!" The Purrloin appeared in a flash, sitting back on her haunches and grooming. She slowly opened one eye to take notice of the Zigzagoon all spiky and trying to look intimidating (Loki wasn't impressed). Before Ken could even call an attack, tears began to well up in Loki's eyes and she started to cower from the Zigzagoon just before the wailing started and she ran to hide behind her handler's leg. The Zigzagoon allowed her spikes to relax and her gaze softened. It was then Loki quickly leaped up onto Ken's shoulder and in the same fluid motion kicked off to leaped down, shooting a powerful Dark Pulse onto the Zigzagoon's head.

The Zigzagoon shrieked, stumbling back and shaking her head vigorously to clear her thoughts. Loki fell to the ground easily, landing on her feet, tense and ready for the Zigzagoon's realiation. Coralie growled under her breath. "Ziggy get in close with Headbutt!" Coralie ordered.

The Zigzagoon turned back to her opponent. She tucked her skull in and charged, running in a zagzag to ram into the Purrloin. Loki moved to dodge only for the Zigzagoon to make a sharp turn and collided with Loki. Loki went flying in the air, landing sprawled in the sand. Loki pushed herself to her paws, claws sliding out in anger. "Loki use--" The Purrloin didn't wait for Ken to finish her command, she just charged straight at the Zigzagoon with a Payback, slamming into her repeatedly with her own paws. "Ziggy quick grab Loki's paw!" Coralie demanded.

The Zigzagoon latched onto Loki's paw right before, "Now use Hidden Power!" Glowing orbs of light blinking into existence around the Zigzagoon's tail and she flipped the lights toward the Purrloin struggling to free herself from the Zigzagoon's jaws. The red orbs slammed into Loki, propelling her into the air, flames engulfing her. Loki collapsed to the ground, eyes dazed and muscles aching in pain. "Loki!" Ken cried running to her Pokemon's side. Ken collapsed to her knees by Loki, running one hand through her fur. "Are you okay?" Ken asked.

Loki twisted around to look at Ken, nodding her head though it caused her obvious pain. It took a lot of effort on Loki's part, but she managed to stand, smoothing her face so as not to show her pain. Loki peeled back her lips and let loose a terrifying growl, causing the Zigzagoon to stumble back, slightly intimidated. Then Loki charged the Zigzagoon, a Dark Pulse forming in her palms. The Zigzagoon moved to quickly dodge and twist out of the way but Loki anticipated this and turned with the Zigzagoon ready to fire off her attack. "Ziggy quick counter with Ice Beam!" Both the Dark Pulse and Ice Beam went off at the same time, throwing both Pokemon back, and revealing both of them knocked out. "Loki return," Ken recalled the Purrloin back as the Zigzagoon returned to its own pokeball as well.

It was the Coralie took off running, hoping to outrun the exhausted Guardian. "Hey get back here!" Ken cried, still refusing to give up. She quickly followed, calling out another Pokemon. "Fruitfly use Rollout and block Coralie!" Ken ordered, throwing the pokeball. A Venipede appeared instantly and curled up into a ball, taking off quickly and swerving around the fleeing rogue, cutting off her escape route.

Coralie stumbled back before sending out her Shinx, "Sparky I choose you!" The Shinx arched its back angrily, fur fluffed out and teeth bared. Sparks flew off its fur. "Sparky use Wild Charge!"

The Shinx bunched her muscles before charging at Fruitfly, ablaze in electricity. Fruitfly squealed in fear, curling into a ball and rolling out of the way. Fruitfly uncurled from her ball and turned to face Sparky, antennae probing the air. "Fruitfly use Defense Curl!" Ken ordered. Fruitfly curled back into her ball, tightening it and holding the position. "Sparky use Double Kick!" Coralie ordered.

The Shinx charge forward, slamming outward with her hind legs and trying to damage the Venipede. Fruitfly held the ball, letting the Double Kick bounce off her hard exoskeleton. "Perfect!" Ken exclaimed. "Now roll in place!" Fruitfly began to turn, creating a pit in the dirt and throwing up a wall of sand into the Shinx's face. The Shinx yelped, stumbling back and pawing at her eyes, trying to clear her vision. "Now Fruitfly use Sludge Bomb!"

"Sparky duck and roll!" Coralie ordered. The Shinx instantly dropped to the ground and rolled out of the way, still rapidly blinking her eyes and trying to get the sand out. "Now use Thunder!" the bounty demanded. Shinx tensed, fur bristling, when a giant lightening beam seemed to engulf the electric type and shot out, slamming into Fruitfly. Fruitfly screamed in pain, getting thrown back and smashing a hole through one building. "Fruitfly!" Ken screamed, running to the bug type and holding her tight. How could she possibly win now...
