Quick Updates

Weather Conditions

Season: Autumn

With the cooling season of Autumn, Ice-types are starting to re-emerge from their hibernation as Ghost-, Normal-, and Flying-types swarm in the largest numbers they will all year. In comparison, wild Fire- and Bug-type populations are falling in number. The migration of Flying-types to the south in search of warmer weather has also started, as Istin City starts to re-freeze and Autumn marks the beginning of Cypwater Point's rainy season. Handlers and Rogues alike should be wary: Ghost-type powers are boosted during this season, at the cost of being more prone to their triggers.

Fossilized Pokémon
Fossils of pokémon are rare and valuable finds indeed, no matter what pokémon is in the stone, because there are numerous collectors and groups who research fossil regeneration in non-conventional fossil pokémon who will purchase them for very high prices. Beyond their monetary value, however, trainers prize certain fossils above all others, because they contain the imprint of a pokémon that can be brought back to life with the help of a good mage.

The majority of people who own regenerated pokémon, however, will not admit to having them regenerated themselves, and procedures are always carried out in secret because of the stigma magic carries among the general populace. As such, it is expensive to bring a pokémon back to life from stone and decidedly unfashionable. If one wished to resurrect a fossil pokemon, however, they would simply have to find the head Healer/Mage in their nearest town and give them the fossil and around six hundred gold pieces. It can be revived at any level from 1 to 30, randomized and in their first evolutionary stage.

Stone, etc. - Evolution Pokemon
In the games, once many of these pokemon have evolved, they no longer learn any of the moves that their previous evolution(s) would have learned. In Harper, this is simply stuff and nonsense. The evolved pokemon will continue to learn its movepool as if it had not evolved.

Pokemon who continue to learn moves prior to the use of an evolution item (eeveelutions, for example) will not learn their previous evolution's moveset, but a pokemon like starmie, which ceases to learn after it evolves, will continue to learn staryu's moveset as it grows.
Ditto is not a pokemon that is native to the region, and as such it is nearly impossible to find in the wild. Breeders around the region tend to have them for their businesses, but only rarely if ever sell them. While this pokemon may reproduce itself by a process similar to budding, it has a relatively short lifespan and the offspring are nearly always kept for work. Efforts have been made to introduce this pokemon to the wild, but so far they have failed due to either an inhospitable environment or the fact that they are easy prey for the native pokemon who are adept at hunting in their home terrain. The only place they are currently found in the wild in Harper is on the islands of the Seaway chain, where there are few natural predators that would prey on the strange pokemon.
Charizard Family
In light of the issues presented by the tail flame as being a source of life, we will treat this mechanic as canon for our more realistic play. Quoted below for convenience:

-- Even though it’s unrelated to the skeleton, I will address the tail flame. The tip of the Charizard family’s tail secretes a highly unique flammable oil from the moment of the creature’s birth. The heat and intensity of the flame is reliant upon its current energy levels.

The flame is incredibly resilient. While it is correct that the Pokémon will die if the flame goes out, that is not so easy to do, or the species would have died out. If a healthy Charizard is submerged, it will take at least a minute of fierce (and extremely painful) vaporization for the flame to be completely extinguished.

Another interesting property of the tail oil is that it is unique to each individual, so that a Char can never be harmed by its own flame, which carries unique chemical properties. In diseased individuals, however, the oil becomes polluted with toxins and burns less cleanly, and can even begin to eat through the tail flesh if left untreated.
Gardevoir Line
In Harper, gardevoir evolution line pokemon will remain pure psychics in typing, but will learn their updated movepools.
